Hello everybody--Just wanted to let you know that my next sub-DJ gig at WRIR will be this coming Saturday, 5/16, from 11 am to 1 pm, in case you want to tune in or out. This time around, it'll be the "classic rock" show (no Native American tunes this time--see last show) and I've got a tentative theme of "remembering WGOE" with (hopefully) a play list to match, so we'll see. In the words of Bob Goldthwaite--"This will either be really cool, or it'll really suck." You can get the on-line stream at www.WRIR.org; if you hit "enter" it'll show you the most recent web posting (on Saturday, it'll probably be the 9-11 guy's show) with a web stream hot button to the right. If you hit "schedule" you can scroll down to Saturday, hit the "Shake Some Action" button, and get directly into what's been updated for the show--plus there's a button for the audio stream there, as well. I'm hoping, with the use of my data stick (assuming it gets recognized by the studio computer), to have the web site updated by 1115 or so, with regard to the show and the play list--but that assumes that I don't screw it up...which is consistently problematic, at best. The FM frequency is 97.3, but since WRIR is a 100 watt, low power, FM station, you can't pick up the radio signal much more than 5-8 miles away from downtown (on a good day) so probably it's best to stream (in stereo!), if you're so inclined.

The projected play list is attached, in case you want to peruse it and get a head start on the 3-4 other listeners that day. It's still a work in progress, however--I'm not sure the last track by Mahavishnu Orchestra is going to survive...within the 9+ minutes available I might just do something else.

All seriousness aside, please do try not to throw anything at your radio/computer during this show--it'll hurt my feelings...assuming I can find some...Doug.
